For this session we will continue to discuss Black & White photography and the information provided by Henri Droski at our club meeting. I have also found an interesting video covering the work of Jerry Uelsmann, originally from Detroit.

The Works of Henry F. Zeman - Grand Rapids Press Outdoor Editor & Photographer

See Henry’s life story through the photographs that he captured during his time in the Navy, the photos of his family and friends, and while working at the Grand Rapids Press as a photographer and outdoor editor.

Henry used many different types of cameras and formats though his lifetime to capture the news, sport events, life events, and nature. Henry photographed it all. Henry carried a camera wherever he went, just like we do today, with our cellphones. Henry did not want to miss an opportunity to photograph life as he saw it.

When not working at the Grand Rapids Press, Henry was an avid hunter, fisherman, and writer where he photographed his adventures using equipment that he built and used to tell a story.

Our program will be presented GRCC member James Zeman (Henry’s son)

Following our program we will have a short social time (anyone is welcome to bring a treat to share). We will conclude the meeting by showing the May Competition images.

Guests are always welcome at our meetings, however we do ask for a $5 guest fee to help defray our expenses.
