Description

Do you find yourself frequently shooting in aperture or shutter priority mode, or even auto mode on occasion? Does the thought of moving your camera dial to “M” make you nervous? Our September presenter, Daniel Koons, will help you get over your fears of the big “M!” His presentation “Mastering Manual Mode” will help you learn how to use your camera in manual mode, without constantly tweaking settings, without bouncing between all the modes on the dial, without having to delete blurred or dark photos, all while making it easy and accurate. This is a “Back to Basics” presentation… and Daniel will discuss how Shutter Speed, Aperture, ISO, and Exposure work together, and how to set them. He will cover the order and process to achieve optimal settings for every photograph.

With gathering restrictions due to Covid-19 still in place we will again be meeting virtually. Daniel’s presentation will be via Zoom. You will receive a link to join the meeting via email. We hope that you will join our “Hollywood Squares” style gathering! You might wish to have your camera close at hand during this presentation so you can follow along with Daniel on your own camera.

Daniel Koons Biography

Daniel’s love of digital photography started in 2001 while working at Circuit City. He was eagerly waiting until he could afford a “high-resolution” 3.0 Megapixel Camera, and then finally shot his first wedding in 2005 using a Canon 20D. Over the years Daniel has done professional photography in the areas of Weddings, Portraits, and Product Photography. He really enjoys teaching other photographers and has been doing so since 2006. Currently his main camera is the Sony A7R4 with a resolution slightly higher than his first camera, the Fujifilm S5000. Daniel and his wife, Holly, have 6 children, ages six through 15. They live in Grand Rapids where he is the Store Manager of Norman Camera on 28th Street.
