“f/8 and Be There – The Influence of Style on Bucket List Adventuring with a Camera” With Dr Mike O'Connor --Zoom Only Program
December 15, 2021 at 07:15 PM
Mike O’Connor is a Bucket List Adventurer who loves to travel to far-away places in search of compelling photographic opportunities. He is presently on a virtual tour of camera clubs around the world, discussing how each photographer has a personal style consisting of at least four related elements: TECHNICAL (what equipment you use); GEOGRAPHIC (where you shoot); SUBJECTS (what you shoot); and SOCIAL (how you interact with others when shooting). Using engaging stories of his travels and more than 100 fascinating images, Mike demonstrates that these elements not only impact the nature of the photos acquired, but also the very nature of the adventures themselves. Some of his visual/literal exploits can be viewed on his photo/blog website www.mikesmeanderings.com.
The Program and Meeting will be presented online via Zoom

Mike is a retired consulting engineer/wannabe cowboy who has lived the last 50 years in western Canada. He was a dedicated Canon guy for most of his life but now shoots exclusively with SONY mirrorless cameras. He is drawn to places and cultures which might seem strange to most North Americans, but which provide boundless opportunities for unique photographic adventures.
